Performance
The two standard GLB trim levels enjoy 221 horsepower from a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbo engine. This is balanced with a dual-clutch auto eight-speed transmission and front-wheel drive. The GLB’s AMG® trim benefits from 302 horsepower pulled from a high-performance variation of the same four-cylinder engine. It is combined with a 4MATIC® all-wheel drive drivetrain. Meanwhile, the base GLC trim for 2022 is outfitted with a turbo four-cylinder, 255-horsepower engine, rear-wheel drive, and a nine-speed auto transmission. A mid-level trim comes with this same engine paired with a 4MATIC® all-wheel drive drivetrain. The top AMG® trim comes with a 385-horsepower turbo V6 engine. This is accompanied by a sport-tuned 4MATIC® all-wheel drive drivetrain and a sport-tuned air suspension system.
Appearance
The 2022 GLB has a boxy, confident stance as well as smooth contouring through its side panels. Black molding throughout the lower panels, wheel wells, and bumpers add functionality and style. The nose has a tall, wide grille with vertical bars, an aggressive lower fascia, and rectangular LED headlights. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC has strong angles through its hood and roof to create a tapered profile. The sides are heavily sculpted. The same vertical bar design is present on the nose, but the grille is longer. The headlights are set at a slight angle and show off a surrounding LED ribbon.
Features
The GLB and the GLC leave no room for disappointment in their sophisticated cabins. They share many features. Some of their common features are evasive steering assist, adaptive cruise control, leather seats, a hands-free liftgate, a navigation system, a household-style power outlet, a pair of 10.25-inch screens for the driver’s gauges and infotainment system, customizable ambient lighting, touch-sensing buttons on the heated steering wheel, natural voice recognition and more. Select GLC trims may also come with a tri-zone climate control system, a few additional safety technologies, and a wireless charging pad.
